Founder & Executive Director
“Everyone’s journey is different, but no one should have to walk it alone.”
A message from Kristina
Welcome. My name is Kristina Milan, and I am the proud Founder and Executive Director of The Journey Transitioning Home LLC.
I was born in North Carolina and have always had a passion for helping others. After graduating from high school, I began working in fields centered on caring for people, including the medical field, childcare centers, and special needs schools. Through these experiences, I found that my true calling was serving individuals and families during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
As a single mother of three, I understand firsthand the importance of perseverance, compassion, and a strong support system. My personal and professional experiences inspired me to create The Journey Transitioning Home with one simple goal: to give people a safe place to call home and the support they need to move forward.
For more than three years, I have been dedicated to helping individuals throughout Central Florida and surrounding communities who are experiencing homelessness, transitioning from incarceration, recovering from a hospital or rehabilitation stay, or simply in need of a fresh start. Today, we proudly operate multiple housing locations and continue to expand our services to meet the growing needs of our community.
I strongly believe that everyone deserves dignity, respect, and a second chance. Whether someone is rebuilding their life after incarceration, recovering from a medical setback, or simply looking for stability, our team is here to help. We work closely with community partners, healthcare providers, social workers, and referral agencies to connect individuals with housing, resources, benefits, and supportive services that promote long-term success.
At The Journey Transitioning Home, we are more than housing. We are a supportive community, and we work to create a place where individuals feel supported, valued, and empowered to reach their goals.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our mission. We look forward to serving you, your loved ones, and our community.
About the organization
The Journey Transitioning Home provides safe, affordable independent living housing and supportive services for adults ages 18 and older who are transitioning from incarceration, homelessness, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, shelters, or other unstable living situations.
We bridge the gap between crisis and stability. Alongside housing, we provide case management support, referral coordination, and connections to community-based resources that help people regain independence and improve their quality of life. We strive to create a welcoming environment where individuals feel supported, valued, and able to reach their goals.
